Measuring and analyzing the saving function in the Iraqi economy for the period 2003-2018

Abstract
Saving is considered one of the topics that occupy a wide field in economic research, due to the importance it represents in the economic activity. Therefore, this research tries to measure the saving function in the Iraqi economy during the period from 2003-2018 using the ARDL model. The results of this study indicated that there is a long equilibrium relationship. The term between income and savings, and that saving depends greatly on income, that is, the relationship between saving and income is positive, and the marginal tendency to save is 0.20, and the study made a set of proposals, including the need to work on rationalizing consumption in Iraqi society, and increasing awareness among citizens of the importance of saving because of the importance of that. For the process of capital accumulation, and work to find policies and tools that contribute to the development of savings and activate saving and investment in the development plans of the Iraqi economy.
