Sustainable agricultural development Within the framework of the green economy A comparative study of a sample of countries with different income levels

Abstract
Increasing attention to the issue of preserving natural resources and rationalizing and sustaining their exploitation, as it is one of the main pillars for achieving sustainable development in general and sustainable agricultural development in particular, and the trend towards the rational use of these resources in order to achieve their sustainability and take into account the right of future generations to them, by moving towards achieving the requirements of the green economy, which contributes to creating the desired balance through the creation of green jobs and green investment in many sectors such as agriculture and renewable energies. The research aims to shed light on the nature of the relationship between the green economy and sustainable agricultural development of a selected sample of countries, which was divided according to the World Bank's divisions according to income levels for 2021 and rely on a number of environmental and economic indicators within the framework of sustainable agricultural development divided into three groups. The research assumes an integrated relationship between sustainable agricultural development and the green economy. It is not possible to achieve agricultural sustainability without the presence of the main rule, which is the preservation of natural capital. The research found that the green economy index is in direct relationship with the indicator of the proportion of agricultural land in both high and middle-income countries, while the inverse relationship between the two indicators appeared for the rest of the group countries. There is a difference in the results of the two dimensions (effective use of resources, and protection of natural capital) between the rise and fall between the countries of each group and between different groups. The reason may be due to the form of resource exploitation and the nature of agricultural and environmental economic policies in each country.
