Abstract
The aim of the study is to measure and analyze the impact of the public budget deficit on the trade balance in Iraq for a period of approximately two decades (2004-2022). The study utilizes both deductive and inductive methods for reaching its aim. The data used in this study was collected from the Iraqi Central Bank as well as the Iraqi finance ministry. To analyze the data and draw the study’s conclusion a statistical software called (SPSS) was used. After carrying out correlation and regression analysis the study found out that there is a strong positive and statistically significant relationship between the Iraqi public budget deficit and trade balance implying that when the Iraqi public budget goes unbalanced so does the Iraqi trade balance.
