Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aims to determine the determinants of the import demand function for some agricultural commodities represented by (tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, trees, onions, and potatoes) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq during the period (2005-2021), by using the autoregressive model for distributed slowing periods (ARDL). The research aimed to measure and analyze the demand function for imports of some commodities. The results showed a long equilibrium relationship between the independent research variables represented by (gross domestic product, population, exchange rate, domestic price (alternative price), imported price, customs tariff) and the dependent variable represented by the amount of imports of agricultural commodities. The results also revealed a positive relationship between the variables (gross domestic product (income), population, domestic price (alternative price) with the amount of imports, while the results showed an inverse relationship between (foreign exchange rate, importer's price, amount of customs tariff with amount of imports.
