Abstract
The wheat crop is regarded as one of the main crops, as it occupies the first place in terms of the cultivated area and nutritional importance in all countries of the world, including Iraq. Increasing the production of the wheat crop is an aim for every rational economy, whether developed or developing. Studying the production of wheat, which suffers from continuous decline and fluctuation, and diagnosing the reasons for its decline and fluctuation, in order to find the best ways to increase and improve production, is one of the important matters that deserve study. Iraq is witnessing a deficit in the production of the wheat crop, and from this point the research problem has come. The study relies on the hypothesis that the impact of some productivity variables on the production of the wheat crop in Iraq have positive effects on increasing production and improving quality, as well as negative effects that lead to a decrease in its production in the event that it is not used in a scientific manner. The study aims to know some productivity variables and identify the factors affecting the production of the wheat crop in Iraq for the period (2004-2019), and to work out a number of possible solutions to address the problems facing the production of this important crop to advance the reality of its production in quantity and quality.
