Diagnosing the Reality of Formal Leadership Status Variables in the Directorate of Municipalities of Nineveh

Abstract
The current research aimed at diagnosing the reality of the formal leadership status variables in the Nineveh Municipalities Directorate. It stems from asking what are the basic variables indicating the formal status of the leader in the investigated organization? It adopted a hypothesis represented by (determining the formal status of
the leader at the level of the investigated organization according to the respondents’ answers to the items expressing the variables that explain the formal status. The current study adopted a questionnaire form as a method for collecting data on the subject. The questionnaire covered a random (100) individuals, and the researchers used the descriptive analytical approach. The research resulted in a number of conclusions, most notably: the availability of the basic formal leadership status variables to a medium degree, and the research
came out with a number of recommendations.
