Yellow Corn Production in Iraq: An Economic & Statistical Study, For the Period 2007-2023

Abstract
Yellow corn is considered an important crop in the Iraqi agriculture, as it represents an industrial crop providing vegetable oil and fodder crop providing foodstuff for animals.
8 Iraqi governorates are commonly producing Yellow corn in Iraq. A relatively large number farmers were cropped Yellow corn for the season 2021/2022 and were examined by using specific questionnaire in order to estimate the factors affecting production in each governorate and on Iraq as a whole. However, a number of 596 forms were proved correct from a total number of 611 farmers, and the data were gathered and analyzed by using the statistical analysis; multiple linear regression, stepwise and the factor analyses which are provided by the SPSS package. The researcher used statistical methods: Multiple linear regression, Stepwise and Factor Analysis.
The results revealed that acquisition of arable land allocated for producing Yellow corn was the first factor influenced production decision, then the area cropped. The second factors were those concerning land preparation, such as types of cultivation and kinds of seeds.. However, factors concerning cropping service such as types of insecticides and method of harvesting product were at the third stage.
