Evaluating the Effectiveness of Financial Analysis in Improving Investment Decisions in the Iraqi Banking Sector
Main Article Content
Abstract
Financial analysis is the process of evaluating and understanding the numbers and financial information provided by companies in their financial reports. The purpose of this analysis is to comprehend the company's actual performance and assess its real capacity to achieve profit and growth in the future. This plays a critical and essential role in the decision-making process regarding whether to proceed with investments or not. Thus, financial analysis serves as a powerful tool that aids investors in making well-informed and clear investment decisions, especially in the banking sector, where investment is considered one of the fundamental pillars for generating returns. The study relies on the published financial data of a sample of Iraqi banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange for the period from 2020 to 2023, including the following banks: Zain Iraq Bank, Al-Mustashar Islamic Bank, Jihan Bank, and International Islamic Bank. Consequently, one of the key objectives of the study is to provide theoretical and practical contributions in diagnosing the issues related to financial analysis processes and their impact on investment ratios in the banks included in the research sample.
