Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to measure and analyze financial flexibility indicators for the period (2016-2023) through an analytical study of a number of Iraqi private banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange. By analyzing the indicators (liquidity, profitability, leverage, and cash holdings) in order to provide a clear vision about its financial performance and its level of resilience in the face of economic challenges. The study community consisted of Iraqi private banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange,
while the study sample consisted of (10) banks in order to enable the study to disseminate the results reliably. The study also adopted the quantitative financial analysis methodology using financial analysis tools, especially the financial ratios extracted from the annual financial statements of banks during the study period.
The most important findings of the study indicate that there is a significant disparity in financial flexibility indicators between the banks studied, as some banks showed a high ability to maintain good levels of liquidity and profitability, while others suffered from sharp fluctuations in performance, especially in leverage indicators and cash holdings. The study also recommends the need to strengthen liquidity management through the development of advanced asset and liability management systems with more attention to the financial planning and forecasting processes of banks.
