Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of joint audit on corporate continuity within the context of a high-risk economic and regulatory environment, represented by the Iraqi banking sector listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange. The study is grounded in a theoretical framework reviewing the accounting concepts of joint audit and the going Concern.

Employing a mixed-method research design that combines deductive and inductive approaches, the study applied a multiple linear regression model to data from a sample of private banks that have been mandated to implement the joint audit system since 2016, covering the period from (2011 to 2023).

The results of the statistical analysis indicated a positive and statistically significant effect of the joint audit variable on the continuity index measured by the (Z-Score) model, after controlling for the effects of bank size and profitability variables. This confirms the effective role of joint audit as an external monitoring mechanism that enhances transparency, reduces the risk of financial failure, and consequently supports the long-term continuity of companies.
