Analyzing the effects of public debt on economic growth in Iraq for the period 2010 to 2020

Abstract
This study aimed to identify the analysis of the effects of public debt on the economy in Iraq during the period (2010-2020), where data on the variables of the study were collected, and the analytical descriptive approach was relied upon, as the results of the study showed that the increase in public debt rates in Iraq has an impact Negatively on economic growth, which may contribute to an increase in poverty and failure to advance economic growth in Iraq. The study recommended a set of recommendations. The most prominent of which was continuing interest in spending borrowed amounts of public debt on investment and economic growth to reduce problems that may face the volume of borrowing in Iraq, and conducting other studies to identify the impact of public debt on other social and economic variables such as the level of income, fair distribution of income, social welfare, training, and vocational and technical employment. In order to promote economic activity in Iraq.
