The Role of Management Information Systems in Developing the Institution's Strategic Plan: A Descriptive Study at the College of Medicine/ Tikrit University

Abstract
This study aimed to clarify the role of management information systems (MIS) through its dimensions of information quality and technical integration, as well as its impact on goal formulation and strategy implementation. It also examined the extent to which, given environmental development and complexity, modern and interconnected methods are needed to enhance strategy. The study adopted a descriptive methodology.
The field study was conducted at the College of Medicine, Tikrit University. Data was collected from a sample of 54 employees using questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using SPSS software. The study problem was to determine the extent to which officials at the College of Medicine, Tikrit University, are interested in management information systems (MIS) in supporting the institution's strategic plan. This formed the basis of the hypothesis. The results showed a significant correlation and influence between MIS and strategic planning, with a correlation coefficient of 0.655. The results also indicated that information quality and technological integration contribute significantly to improving strategic planning through its dimensions of goal setting and strategy implementation. The study recommended strengthening the focus on developing MIS, with an emphasis on improving information quality and enhancing technological integration.
