The Moderating Role of Organizational Culture on the Impact of Organizational Creativity Climate on Competitive Intelligence: A survey of the opinions of a sample of administrative leaders in private colleges
Main Article Content
Abstract
The current research aims to study the impact of organizational creativity climate on competitive intelligence through the moderating role of organizational culture. The research problem stems from the weakness in translating the available creativity climate in the private colleges included in the study sample into actual practices that enhance competitive intelligence through the moderating role of organizational culture. The research adopted the descriptive-analytical method and was applied field-based to a purposive sample of department heads and division heads in five private colleges in Baghdad Governorate (Al-Mansour University, Al-Israa University, Uruk University, Al-Turath University, and Al-Rafidain University). The sample consisted of (48) department heads and division heads from the aforementioned colleges. Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of items covering the dimensions of organizational creativity climate, organizational culture, and competitive intelligence. A total of 48 questionnaires were distributed, and all were returned and deemed valid for statistical analysis (100%). The data were analyzed using appropriate statistical tools, namely the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation. For testing the research hypotheses, the statistical tool used was linear regression. Using simple, multiple linear regression coefficients and path analysis, the research reached several important conclusions, most notably that the interaction between organizational culture and the organizational creativity climate was more influential on competitive intelligence compared to the direct influence of the organizational creativity climate alone, and that a weak organizational culture may limit the effectiveness of the organizational creativity climate, even if creative practices are available, making culture a crucial factor in maximizing the strategic returns of creativity. In light of this, the research recommends that private colleges establish an organizational culture that supports creativity, learning, and knowledge sharing, which contributes to enhancing the impact of the organizational creativity climate on competitive intelligence.
